Dr. Wu is a Professor for Biophysical Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry and Physics in State Key Laboratory for Physical Chemistry of Solid Surfaces, The Key Laboratory for Chemical Biology of Fujian Province, and Department of Chemistry, College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Xiamen University.

Dr. Wu worked as a research staff in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University with Professor K.W. Eric Cheng and Associate Professr Yuenwah Wong in 2006 and 2007. He went to USA in 2008, and worked as a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Chemistry at the City University of New York with Professor Shuiqin Zhou until 2011.

Dr. Wu received his Ph.D. degree in Condensed Matter Physics from Hefei National Laboratory for Physical Sciences at the Microscale (with
Professor Lei Shi, and Professor Qingren Zhu) in 2008, his B.S. degree in Applied Chemistry from Department of Polymer Science and Engineering in 2003, and his Minor degree in Computer Science and Technology from Department of Electronic Science and Technology in 2003, at the same university -- University of Science and Technology of China (USTC).

Dr. Wu has been selected to the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University of Ministry of Education of China (2013), and the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in Fujian Province University (2012). He also gains the support from the Natural Science Foundation of Fujian Province for Distinguished Young Scholars (2014).

Dr. Wu has received a number of prestigious awards, including the Teaching Prize (XMU, 2013), Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award (Anhui Province, 2009), CAS President Excellent Award (the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 2008 ), Excellent Graduate Award (Anhui Province and USTC, 2008), Gold Medal prize of Brussels Eureka 2007 Awards (the 56th World Exhibition on Innovation, Research and New Technologies, 2007), Qiushi Graduate Fellowship (the Hong Kong Qiushi Science and Technology Foundation, 2006), and Excellent B.S. Thesis Award (Department of Polymer Science and Engineering at USTC, 2003).

Dr. Wu is a member of American Chemical Society, and The New York Academy of Sciences. He has been a reviewer of ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, Biomacromolecules, Macromolecules, The Journal of Physical Chemistry, Small, Soft Matter, Nanotechnology, Materials Science and Engineering B, Analytical Methods, Advanced Materials, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Biomaterials, Polymer Chemistry, and more.
