Research Interests: Synthesis, properties, functionalization and application of non-classical fullerenes in superconductor and solar cell fields; Structures and formation mechanism of fullerenes; HPLC and Mass spectrometry for direct and rapid analysis of various compounds in solid surfaces free from redundant sampling procedure; Synthesis and functionalization of carbon-based nanocluster materials (e.g., nanotubes and graphenes).

National Natural Science Award from the Chinese government (2006).
