Bio of Mikhail Glazov:
Mikhail Glazov has been at the Ioffe Institute since 2003. He graduated from the Polytechnical University, St Petersburg, Russia, in 2005 after defense of Master of Physics thesis. He defended both his PhD thesis (2008) and Habilitation thesis (Doctor of Sciences) (2012) at the Ioffe Institute. He has received several awards, including the Medal and Prize for Young Researchers of the Russian Academy of Sciences (2014) and the Euler Prize by the Government of St. Petersburg (2015). In 2016, Glazov was elected to the Russian Academy of Sciences as a corresponding member. His research interests include condensed-matter theory, physics of two-dimensional semiconductors, spin physics, and light–matter coupling effects. He is also a chair of condensed matter physics at the Alferov University in St Petersburg.
