Sep 11, 2018, our alumni Prof. Yunjie Xu, has been elected as an Academy of Science in the Division of Mathematical and Physical Sciences by the Royal Society of Canada (RSC). Eighty-nine new Fellows in the Academies of Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science have been elected by their peers for their outstanding scholarly, scientific and artistic achievement. Recognition by the RSC is the highest honour an individual can achieve in the Arts, Social Sciences and Sciences. Congratulations to Prof. Xu!

Prof. Xu, is now working at the Department of Chemistry in University of Alberta. As the Canada Research Chair in Chirality and Chirality Recognition, she has brought a rigorous physical sciences approach to decoding chiral phenomena. She advances the field by identifying important questions and finding answers by pushing methodical frontiers with the design and development of novel spectroscopic tools. Her profound contributions to uncovering stereospecific interactions underlying chirality recognition events, central to the biochemistry of life, have made her a world leader in chirality research.
