报告摘要：
Understanding catalysis, and in particular heterogeneous catalysis, has been based on the investigation of model systems in combination with theory. We have developed strategies to prepare such model systems based on single crystalline oxide films, which are used, as reactive media, as support materials, as well as permeable covers to study reactions in confined space. The talk will cover some of the topics touched upon in the later years of my directorship, such as CO2 activation on supported Au nanoparticles, surface action spectroscopy and using 2D silica films to study reactions in confined space.
报告人简介：
Freund教授于1996-2019年担任德国马普学会弗里茨-哈伯研究所所长和化学物理系主任，2019年起任弗里茨-哈伯研究所荣休教授。研究领域为表面科学与多相催化，在表面科学与多相催化基础研究领域做出了引领性的研究成果，迄今为止共发表850余篇学术论文，作820余次邀请报告，培养了130余名博士和80余名博士后。Freund教授获得研究领域众多国际知名学术奖项，代表性奖项包括德国DFG Leibniz Award、欧洲科学院Blaise Pascal Medal、美国化学会Gabor A. Somorjai Award 、美国真空学会Gaede-Langmuir Award、北美催化联合会和欧洲催化联合会Michel Boudart Award、美国化学会Surface Chemistry Award等。他当选为德国科学院院士、欧洲人文和自然科学院院士、欧洲科学院院士、美国人文与科学院外籍院士、巴西科学院外籍院士、匈牙利科学院外籍院士，被授予法国艾克斯-马赛大学、德国卡尔斯鲁厄理工学院和德国弗里德里希-亚历山大大学(纽伦堡埃尔兰根)荣誉博士，入选美国物理学会和英国物理学会会士，美国真空学会会士、中国化学会荣誉会士。
