报告摘要:

Helicenes, with their characteristic corkscrew-shaped geometry, serve as versatile molecular scaffolds for constructing configurationally robust chiral functional materials through precise structural design. Our group focuses on leveraging this unique architecture to control electronic and (chir)optical properties at the molecular level. Specifically, the group aims to: (i) enhance long-range electronic communication in helicene-type systems by exploiting through-space conjugation, (ii) develop boron–nitrogen (B,N)-embedded helicenes that exhibit ultra-narrowband circularly polarized (CP) luminescence for CP-OLED applications, and (iii) employ helicenes as molecular synthon to construct helically twisted nanostructures in a stereospecific manner.

报告人简介:

Prince Ravat is a Heisenberg Professor at the University of Cologne. His research focuses on the synthesis and photophysical investigation of chiral π-conjugated molecules and organic semiconductors, with particular emphasis on helicenes, circularly polarized luminescence, and chiral optoelectronic materials. He received his PhD from the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz, followed by postdoctoral research at the University of Basel and the University of Tokyo. He later established an independent research group at the University of Würzburg before moving to Cologne.
