报告摘要:
This lecture will outline the scientific trajectory from functional nanomaterials and the photocatalytic degradation of environmental pollutants to advanced two-dimensional (2D) materials, heterostructures, and interfacial charge-transfer engineering. It will also examine how rational tailoring of material composition, defects, morphology, and interfaces can enhance photocatalytic, photoelectrochemical, and electrocatalytic performance for sustainable energy and environmental applications. Representative studies on WO3-, graphene-, carbon quantum dot-, BiOCl-, and emerging MXene-based systems demonstrate a progressive development of photocatalysts from conventional systems to multifunctional and mechanism-engineered materials. Building on these efforts, current research focuses on defect and interface engineering to support next-generation clean energy, catalytic conversion, and environmental remediation technologies, while fostering interdisciplinary and international collaboration.
报告人简介:
She is currently a professor at the International Islamic University, Islamabad, Pakistan. Her research focuses on materials synthesis and photocatalysis, with particular emphasis on visible-light-responsive catalysts and green synthesis strategies for nanoparticles. She has accumulated more than 16 years of research experience in this field. She is a recipient of the Dr. Shah Jahan Gold Medal for Emerging Technologies and has been listed among Pakistan’s most productive scientists. She has led numerous research-funded projects, including key grants sponsored by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. Her academic contributions include establishing advanced laboratories and delivering postgraduate and doctoral courses. She has published multiple papers in high-impact journals and serves as a peer reviewer for several renowned scientific journals.
